Options are often used as depot security by expert traders. It is about purchase option and sale option which can be explained as follows: Purchase   option   means   that   for   example   a   trader   A   starts   from   the   assumption   that   the   value   of   a   share   will   increase.   Consequently,   today   he   buys   this   share   in   form   of   a purchase   option   at   a   fixed   price   from   trader   B.   Such   option   includes   a   certain   date   of   surrender,   e.g.   in   three   months.   Trader   A   does   therefore   not   pay   the   today’s   value   of   this share   but   an   option   premium   to   trader   B.   The   actual   purchase   price   is   due   and   payable   when   trader   A   exercises   his   option.   In   the   event   this   share   increases,   trader   A   exercises his   option   at   the   maturity   date,   and   pays   the   purchase   price   to   trader   B,   and   he   receives   a   booking   of   this   share   in   his   depot,   and   he   may   immediately   resell   the   share   at   a profit.   Trader   B   receives   the   agreed   purchase   price   plus   an   option   premium.   In   the   event   the   share   decreases   in   contrast   to   what   trader   A   expected,   trader   A   will   not   exercise his option. Trader B gets the option premium as profit from this transaction and remains the owner of this share. Sale   option   means   that   the   buyer   of   an   option   has   the   right,   but   is   under   no   obligation,   to   deliver   the   basic   value   at   a   certain   point   in   time,   in   this   case   the   shares.   Here   you have to distinguish between a call option where increasing rates are assumed, and put options where decreasing rates are assumed. With options it is not about individual parameters, but: Advantages of option trade through our broker network stable and reliable trading platform more than 60 order types and order additions trade in Eurex options for 3.49 EUR trade in US options starting from 3.55 US$ depot keeping free of charge intensive platform training many more advantages for you as a customer through our broker network
